Thermal Imager (11/2/2014)

Soldering iron tip, stationary about 4" away

Thermal Imager (11/2/2014)

Soldering iron moved rapidly in front of camera captures 4 separate images of the tip.

Several users (and me) have noticed ghosting / blurring when the thermal imager is moved during a picture. This appears to be caused by the software taking 4 frames and adding them into a single frame. This is probably done to get the <9Hz frame rate that is required for export control. From this image it is evident that the camera hardware can capture closer to 36Hz and the display is limited only by software.
